Auntie Sook Choo is the best confinement nanny out of the four Nannies I have hired before. She is knowledgeable and skilled in the looking after of my newborn. Nanny Ah Ping has taken good care of both myself and my baby, allowing me to rest well during the confinement period. She has planned her time well to suit the feeding demands of my baby. As this was our third and last baby, we engaged our “Ayi” for 2 months instead of the standard 1 month so I could make a proper post-birth recovery while managing my two older children. We are so thankful to have had Ayi with us during this time. Ayi made nutritious yet delicious meals and soups for me each day, and even taught my helper how to make them for me after my confinement period is over. She tenderly looked after my baby boy who was born prematurely at 7 months gestation. I was a bit rusty on newborn care after a few years passed since my second child was born, so she helped refresh my memory on how to bathe our baby properly. You can tell she genuinely loves working with newborns. She also bonded with my two older girls as well while she stayed in our home. Best of all, she helped me get as good a night’s rest as can be possible when having to nurse a newborn. We will all miss Ayi very much when she returns to Malaysia and wish her all the best!

Nanny Esther was my confinement nanny for 2 months in 2020. She is incredible and I strongly recommend her. As a new father of twin babies during the Covid 19 period, it was unexpectedly challenging. Nanny Esther made my life much better. Without her support and guidance, I would have had it much tougher in my first 2 months as a father with no domestic helper and the lockdown. She was one of the greatest contributors to reducing the stress of my family during the first few weeks of childbirth.
Nanny Esther was very responsible and professional. Because of the Covid 19 situation, I had difficulty in getting a domestic helper. I met Esther for the first time shortly after I was discharged from hospital with my first child. As a first-time mom I was naturally anxious about coming home and leaving the support of the nursing staff behind but the moment I met Esther at my home I felt so relieved. From immediately helping a screaming baby latch on for breast feeding to soothing him to sleep afterwards and even helping me set up the steriliser and breast pump I sensed early on that I was in experienced hands. Needless to say, less than 10 days into my 28 confinement period I had already asked Nanny Esther for an extension.
I have never felt so well looked after and wonderfully nourished. All my meals were delicious and I loved that Nanny Esther was flexible and able to cater to my non-traditional diet and preferences while still offering me all the benefits of confinement food.
My baby was also healthy and happy in her care and I really appreciated that from the beginning she was able to get the baby into a routine to allow me to get as much rest as possible when he was not feeding, in order for me to rest and recover in the first few weeks.
There’s so much to learn when you are a first-time mum and having a professional and experienced nanny like Esther on hand to advise is amazing! I cannot sing enough praises for Nanny Ah Kuan.
She came highly recommended by a friend who had hired her for four months, so at the height of covid, choosing her, and having a 2 storey house with stairs - employing her came at a huge premium, but she was worth every cent and more.
Her cooking is simple and home-cooked, but every meal was delicious, nutrient dense, fresh and healthy. This time around with my second pregnancy, with Nanny Ah Kuan around, I actually felt like I did a proper confinement, as every day she served me two nutritious soups, whether they were to strengthen my body, or to encourage my milk. Any time we strayed from traditions that she thought were necessary to adhere to, she gently nudged us in the right direction without being naggy or overbearing.
She was great with the baby and took such good care of him, that I managed to rest and recuperate from my c-section.
Aunty also got along really well with my helper, and assisted us with our older boy (2.5yo) who took such a liking to her, that even now, close to two weeks after she's left, he still misses her dearly.

As you are aware, my wife and myself are 1st time parent and really don't know what to expect, having seemingly young and fragile life coming into our life. Luckily Amy is very experienced and taught us many things in taking care of our precious one. Even my mother in law praised her for knowledge and she is also glad that we engage a confinement nanny. She even said the she doubt we can handle all these, without the help of Amy. With her around, the whole family can sleep peacefully.
Before we look for the confinement lady, one of the other aspect we are worried about is the food. We are worried that my wife couldn't get use to the taste and ended up not eating, which will be really bad for her recovery. To our pleasant surprise, Amy cooks very well and my wife finished everything, every meal! She is so happy with the cooking and even asked Amy to impart some cooking skill.
It's also surprisingly easy to have Amy living with us. Day 1 she is a complete stranger and within a short few days, she is like part of the family, imparting her knowledge about taking care of children, doing groceries, sharing our stories, telling jokes and more.
It's sad to see her leave (because that means I no longer have my peaceful rest) I am sure the baby will miss her and my wife will miss her cooking. But I am sure we will soon meet again... maybe next year ;p

I would definitely recommend her to all my friends. She cooks great food and also works hard. She’s very attentive to my baby and will play and sing to my baby. Even when she’s busy cooking or doing things, once the baby cries she’ll put everything down and attend to my baby.

My baby sleeps with her in the night time however she doesn't wake up late despite the midnight feed. She would wake up at 5am, to prepare red dates tea so that I can have something to drink for my first feed. She will mop the floor daily after she finishes the morning duties. First of all, we would like to thank Jo for getting a confinement nanny for us, especially during this unprecedented time. When I contacted Jo, I was very surprised that she is able to get us a confinement nanny while all other agencies rejected us. As most of confinement nannies are speaking only Mandarin, I shared with Jo that Mandarin is not my strength. So when Jo got us Nanny Esther, I know right away I made the right decision as Nanny Esther speaks fluent English. Throughout the 28days confinement experience, Nanny Esther never failed us a single time. She did an extra mile to massage my breasts at dawn time to get the colostrum for baby. She has also been encouraging me to pump and breast feed baby although my breast milk supply is very low. Our family have been very lucky to have Auntie Meijiao to help us through this first 28 days.
She was really empathetic and strong, and helped me tremendously, as I had a rough first couple of weeks home. She never once pressured me to do anything I didn’t want to, but encouraged me to think positive and be strong for the baby. At the same time, she really took over caring for the baby and myself until I got better after.
She did everything from baby care, to cooking all meals, and cleaning, washing baby’s clothes, and then taking care of baby more into the nights! It was amazing and inspirational how she managed everything so steadily. She really cared well for our baby, and ‘sayang’ her a lot, which was heartwarming.
More importantly, she taught husband, my older daughter. and myself a lot of do’s and don’t, yes and no, tips and tricks, and made sure that we have a good rhythm and routine set up so that we can manage baby better when she leaves. She taught us all well.
Oh and her energy is amazing, seeing her sprint up and down countless times on the stairs with a bottle, as baby tends to be impatient with her milk.

Aunty Jin Hao has been a great help to us during my confinement. She is a dedicated, meticulous and professional nanny. Meals are served on time, hot and piping, our house - especially kitchen, yard and toilets are always kept clean and what’s most appreciated by us is that aunty is very experienced with jaundice babies. She taught us how to feed baby well to ensure he is hydrated and receiving enough milk.
She takes very good care of baby at night and we never had to worry about leaving baby in her care. Xiao Lan was at first supposed to be with us temporarily and only for a week. But within 2 days, I knew she was the one for our family so we asked her to stay on. Not only is Xiao Lan a superb cook she is also wonderfully accommodating and got along very well with our Filipina helpers. Nanny Lilian is very experienced with babies. She is attentive to the babies needs, keeps a schedule of feedings, and is very efficient at feeding, changing and bathing the baby. When the baby cries or fusses, she is able to soothe him right away just by picking him up.
Around the house Nanny Lillian has also been a big help. She’s an excellent cook and always makes delicious Chinese dishes, and promptly cleans the kitchen after cooking. Nanny Lilian has definitely made our first month a lot easier than it would have been without her!

I didn’t have a confinement nanny for my first child and somehow managed to stumble through it, but I knew there were things I could have done better, and needed help in, so for my second, I decided to engage a nanny.
After going through the websites and contacting a few agencies, I decided to go with Josian Services as their response was very prompt, packages clear, and Jo was not pushy at all (as opposed to some others).
Jo patiently answered my questions and came personally to go through what we wanted from the nanny and did the matching for us.
On the day of my discharge from hospital, Jonbrought nanny Esther to our house, on time, and did a thorough hand over before she left.
Nanny Esther has been great to me and my baby. Through her experience and contacts, she found a nipple shield that suited me and baby, which allowed me to continue to breastfeed. She is also very accommodating to my requests, especially when I was still recovering from my operation in the first week.
After figuring out what I liked/did not like for my baby, she pretty much settled everything for him and I could rest and take care of the elder child knowing that the baby was in good hands.
As I never had “proper” confinement food for the first one, I didn’t quite know what to expect in terms of food. But Nanny Esther’s cooking is great! (My husband says it’s like eating in a restaurant every day).
I will miss nanny dearly when she leaves. Thank you Josian Services and nanny Esther for a most enjoyable confinement.

We were very apprehensive about hiring a nanny because of the many horror stories we had heard. But hiring Nanny Kwan turned out to be the best decision we’d made in our journey as new parents. She is helpful and patient to listen to our needs and able to extend her helping hand to provide an experienced nanny Aunty Pheng for us! Aunty Pheng has many years of experience in confinement industry and able to give appropriate advice to mummy! Auntie Peng has been a great help to us. Being a new mummy and daddy, we have no clue on how to care for a newborn. She will guide us with patience and provide us with tips on how to care for one. She's also very reassuring with we are at lost on what to do at times. The meals she cooked are delicious and nutritious to ensure that I recover well. She also relieved the burden of us doing the housework as she's able to keep the kitchen clean after cooking and helping with the laundry of both me and baby(which really is a lot). In terms of confinement duties, she is very knowledgeable and can advise us on the many different questions and challenges we have as first time parents. Not pertaining only to just the infant stage of the first few months, but beyond that.

She is also very conscientious and meticulous with her chores, and most importantly prioritizes the care of our baby. Often having the baby's well being in mind, before her own. She also provides a bounty of tips and advice to us as new parents, which is very beneficial for us in the future.

Aunty Esther is very observant and intuitive, often adjusting her daily patterns to suit the habits of people in the household, and helps supplement and support to make our lifestyle easier while caring for the baby. Safe to say she does it out of goodwill and should not be taken for granted of.
Similarly she is also highly adept at sensing the needs of the baby and rendering the right kind of care.

The list could go on, but to finish the icing on the cake, Aunty's cooking is fabulous and on par, or even better compared to many eateries out there. She is also able to whip up a myriad of dishes from different cuisines for your tastebuds, but keeping to the reasonable restraints of confinement food, and effort to do them.

Overall, Aunty Esther is highly recommended. This is our sincere and honestly opinion.

Things are going mostly well. Auntie Ester has been great with our baby girl and she is an excellent cook! I’ve learnt a great deal about taking care of the baby from auntie. She is always on alert from day time till night especially middle of the night upon hearing my baby cries. Thanks to her that I can rest well at night. I am not a very traditional type in terms of those post natal confinement rules. Fortunately, auntie Angeline is not strict and flexible to follow the kind of confinement I want (eg. Wash hair, bathe and etc) She cook very nice yummy food. Always being creative on her dishes so that mummy would not get bored of eating the same style confinement food everyday.
